I have a 77 Johnson 35 Hp outboard. I would like to eliminate the key start and go to a start button and kill switch button. I was able to successfully do this install on my 1969 25 HP outboard. I feel really good with where to put the wires on the solenoid for the electric start. My problem is I'm not sure how to wire up the kill button? On the 69 I just wired each wire to a coil and it will kill the motor.
Reason for wanting to do this instead of keeping key. I swap motors on back of my boat out often for variety, testing a motor I'm working on etc. I don't like the ability for the key to shock me without have a shield and i don't want to permanently mount it.
