I have a buddy i work with that is looking to get ride of a 21.5 ft cuddy cabin I/O with a galvanized trailer. its FREE. the catch, it has been sitting outside for about 5 years(last time it was in the water) was covered for the first 3 but not the last 2. he was rebuilding the risers and some parts of the engine, so it is not in workign order at the time. when he had it last in the water he said it ran fine. ok what are the damages i am looking at? i know the floor may need to be replaced but what else might be rottered? how bad could the engining be or if it just needs to be rebuilt, how much could it cost it the outboard is ok? also where could i get a users manul and mantaince manual on this or the engine? am looking at this week to see what i might get myself into. does anyone know how heavy this coudl be aswell, was told 6000 !! thanks

Welcome to iboats....:)
Could be 6000# total.....
You will need to figure out what engine & drive it has......
Generally, a rebuilt engine will cost a grand or so.....
If it is a Merc or Volvo, I'd jump on it....
An OMC, I'd be a little leary, but free is free....
The trailer should be worth some $ by itself.....
See if ya can take some pics & post 'em on the I/O forum.....;)

Re: 1977 21.5 ft cuddy

Ok, my buddie told me it was Mopar/AMC 318 I/O and it was salt watered cooled, that is why he was replace/reuilding the riser. becuase it needed too.

what i found out. i took a look at the boat today. it is actually in pretty good condition for the hule(only one little nick at the top of the bow like it rubbed somthing, can be fixed but shouldnt leak) the trailer is a karavan 2 axle, 4 wheel with brakes, whick needs all new tires. it is a SRV 22 boat, took a look at the engine and it says OMC 175 on it. the out board looked in good condition. the engine was taken a part to a point, had soem rust on it and looked liek it just needed to be rebuilt. all the wood and flooring was actually in really good condition, even the cuddy cabin which had all the seats in it. nothing looked like it needed to be redone. so besides the engine work (ort just putting back together and seeing if it starts), the boat actually may be ok. any thoughts?

were can i get a spec sheet like how much does this thing weigh, what was the origanial engine and out board in it. where can i get tires and wheels for the trailer? i live in Central Jersey, in Point Pleasant. any information on this would be greatly appriciated. im smart, but im learning as i go here guys.

Also where can i get parts for this thing?

Check www.searay.com and go into the archives, I think you have to go through serviec first....Anyway, explore through the links on the left hand side of the page...should find something there.
Not sure if they go back that far but worth a shot....

I have a 1976 SRV 220 that I bought a few years ago from a buddy, it has a 351 Ford/235OMC stringer I/O. The guy I bought it from updated the layout and it now has a hinged engine cover/suntan pad like newer boats. I'll look for a picture and send it. It's probably around 3500# and will do 35MPH if the conditions are right.

I dug around and found this picture from a trip to Lake Powell last summer. It's a great little boat.
