1976 JOHNSON 70 3CYL PROP INFO

Just bought it. Has anybody used the composite props you can change pitch on. 150.00 @ boatus. Should I go this way or should I start with 15' or 17' or 19'. Its going on my 17ft mfg fiberglassic. Any insight is helpful. Brian

judah, I've got a 1977 70hp Johnson on a 16' runabout. Don't waste your money on a fancy composite prop. You need two props anyways and I found a 15 pitch aluminum for pulling two or three tubes and a 17 pitch SS for cruising works for me. A 13 pitch revs too high and a 19 pitch bogs the motor. My two cents worth...
