I replaced this coil because the spark plug wire kept falling out. The replacement coil is identical to what came of of the motor. No instructions came with the part so I went on you tube to find out how to put the spark plug wire boot together. That worked out well. After running the motor for a while the same thing happened where the wire popped out of the coil. This is the type of coil that the wire gets pushed into the coil. It is not the type that has a boot on both sides. What keeps the wire anchored into the coil to prevent this from happening?

Look closely into the wire hole in that coil... you'll see that there is a long pointed prong that has a taper to it,

Spray a little WD-40 on the spark plug wire insulation as a lubricant, then insert the plug wire into that hole and screw it on the prong until you can feel the tension as it bottoms out..

Hmmm very interesting. I will try that when I get home from work. I did see the prong inside and didn't realize that there was some threading action going on in there. I just pressed the the wire in place. I wish these kits would come with instruction. Thank you for the information and will see how it works!!
