Ok so I’m having trouble with this 35 Evinrude. I’m only getting spark to the exact same spark plug. I’ve tried moving this plug from cylinder to cylinder and interchanging all electrical connections from the points and the coils. All combinations provide spark but when I use any other spark plug the spark disappears. I’ve used 15 different plugs all producing good spark on other motors. Any ideas?

What is a "good" spark? Will it jump a 3/8" open-air gap?

??? Are you saying that you only have spark on one cylinder, and no mater what you swap around the spark stays on the same cylinder?

Yes, this is good strong spark on the mentioned spark plug.

Something isn't computing here. You seem to be saying spark on "same plug". What does the plug have to do with it if you are checking for a 3/8" open air gap? Or are you meaning same cylinder, not same plug? We're confused

The good spark follows the spark plug no matter what cylinder it is in, or what coil it is connected to.

If I use a different plug which is know to deliver a good spark (on a different engine) on the same cylinder and coil combination I get no spark. If I then switch back to the original plug I get a spark?? I’m confused too guys.

Forget about the spark plugs, will the spark jump a 3/8" air gap on both cylinders?
