After R&R of powerpak & Ign. coils because of no spark conditon, engine will run like it is starving for fuel, It misses and backfires, I have checked and set timing, cleaned carbs twice, removed intake and inspected reeds, removed head on port side and found severe carbon on piston and plugs, also the chambers were dry, I can spray premix in both sides of the carbs with #1&#3 bogging down and #2&#4 not doing anything, I have 124-126 psi on all 4 cyls. I'm at loss to what is happening to my fuel or fireing on the 2-4 cyls. Any ideas will be appreciated. thanks

boatmanwayne- Hi I would assume that it ran fine before the loss of spark. After you got the spark back you should left the carbs alone, they were fine before. Fuel get blamed too many time too quickly. My guess is timming. If your coils were ever changed they could have been replaced with used coils witht he same color wires. This could lead to timming be out of the right order. You will need to check that out. the timming is set in the way the wires are in the water proof plugs! Check your coils and see if they all are different colors. I will check the book.
steve

Hi Wayne,
You might try indexing the plugs. by doing this you can see where each one is firing, or if there is any cross over firing. Backfiring is usually caused by firing at the wrong time. Sometimes the symptoms that you discribe can be a real b---- to locate.
Good luck

Thanks, stinky2, but my wires are right, I have the factory manual plus the diagram on the powerpak cover, as per the running condition It didn't run when I started on it, but once running these faults appeared, I just can't figure out why it won't run on #2 & #4 when they are supplied by different carbs.

Guess what guys, I'm spooning up a big bowl of crow I'm going to have to eat. After checking my wiring three times I missed a crossover of the #2 and #4 coil leads to powerpak, I had them in a protector sleeve and would have sworn they were right. Found this after indexing flywheel as almost retired suggested. Made my day :D . But I'm still going to blame it on friday the 13th. Thanks again for the help.
