Just a quicky for you all. Looking at the starter solenoid (needs replacement) I was looking at one from napa 12v same posts same mounts same size (diameter & depth). Would I be okay to use the napa one? Or do I play it safe and order one for twice the price + shipping.

I've got a 70 55hp that a solonoid went out in.
Napa could order me the marine solenoid for my outboard, but it was expensive.

They got me one that works for less then 10 bucks. In stock too. Go NAPA and fire that sucker up.

Yeah they call it for "power tools/sport" it's the exact same thing I believe it's about $15 I'll slapit in tonight and post the results. Just winter is coming soon here and the wait for having one shipped will take up valuable fishing time. Not that I can't jump it at the solenoid but I prefer to use the key as it was intended

Thanks guys

Well I've been known to break my own arm patting myself on the back. But hey it feels good to get things done. Just an update I picked up a replacement solenoid at NAPA a "powersport Solenoid" I believe the part number is 7018611. A couple of gentleman told me to go ahead and use it and hey so far so good.

Thanks Guys:)
