Oky, i have been looking for information on a boat i bought its a 1976 ranger with a 200hp evinrude on it called local marina to see if they had any information on this year and boat. (i searched the internet and no luck why you say because its a 20.5 foot ranger. the local marina said ranger didnt make a 20.5 foot boat in 76 didn't make 20 footers till the 80s. so i check the hull number again and last 2 numbers are 76. the local marina gave me a number to call and told to ask for a guy named hoyte (spelling) who works for ranger at the main plant that give tours that he guaranteed me knows everything about rangers. so i did this guy when i got a hold of him told me he was the grandson of the FORREST L. WOOD. kinda leery but could be who knows anyway he told me that yes ranger did make a 20.5 ft boat in 76 but not a lot of them because the factory was not set up to make the hull, i asked what is the model number what i wanted to do research to restore boat and he told me A205 well why i asked in that year all other boats model numbers start with R he stated R= ranger hull A=Allison hull (what ALLISON hull) well i cant find any pictures on net(to do restore project) or any info backing hoyte up can anyone here confirm/debunk this would be great if can get some help finding info on this boat thanks
