1976 115 no pee hole

I just bought a 1976 or 1977 johnson 115 horse. I dont see the usual line for the stream of water that indicates water flow through the engine. Did these older engines not have them???

on that year of motor the tell tale will be the two holes on the midsection, exhaust and water will come out of those

They did not introduce them until around 1978 when they were connected at the bottom right on the exhaust cover.
