I just bought a boat with a 1975 Sears Ted Williams 7.5 outboard #217.586110. The previous owner broke the fuel fitting and then threw it away. He can't remember where it goes and I looked all over this thing for the hole. The only thing I can find is a threaded hole under the fly wheel with a slotted brass fitting inside. All that I have is the plug that goes into gas tank with about a foot of 1/2" black gas line. Is this fuel fitting one the many impossible parts to find or can I get a substitute?

Re: 1975 Sears Ted Williams 7.5 fuel fitting

More information, please. Which fuel fitting was thrown away. On that outboard, there is a connector on the front, outside of the engine, where you connect the fuel line from your gas tank. That accepts a Chrysler-pattern female connector.

Under the cowling, a small hose goes from that external connector to a fitting on the carburetor. The fuel pump on that engine is part of the carburetor.

So, there are only two fuel connectors on your engine. One mounted to the lower cowling, that extends outside of the cowling. Another on the Carburetor with a hose coming from the other connector.

Which one is missing?
