1975 MFG 15'HELP!!!!!!

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. I just got (for free) a 1975 MFG 15' boat. I say boat because other than knowing that it's a v-hull, I don't know much more about it. It is in bad shape, but my wife and I feel, that with a little TLC, and A LOT of hard work, we can make her shine like new again. First, their are a couple of small shallow cracks in the bottom. Is there an easy way to fix this? And second, for just fishing, and maybe towing an innertube or something like that, what size outboard would be good for it. I REALLY appreciate any input you can give me, and for your help, you will always have a friend in Las Vegas. Thank you anyone who can help!
