Hi Eveyone. I just started working on a 1975 Mercury 7.5HP Outboard Motor that has been sitting in my wife's Parents basement. It has been there for about 15 years. It is in excellent condition, and started after 4 pulls. My problem is I don't see it cooling (there is no water coming out the output hose. The inlet (intake) was submerged in a large bucket of water, and completely covered. I let the engine run for approx 10-15 secs before I turned it off. Anyone have any ideas why it might not be getting water to cool the engine? Could it just need an impeler kit? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
