Hi all, so I tried starting my 1975 6hp johnson and couldn't get it going. I finally realized that fuel wasn't reaching the carb because I unscrewed the drain plug and no gas came out. I took apart the carb and cleaned it and all passages. I reassembled the carb and put it back. When I primed the fuel bulb I saw a milky colored fuel coming out of the drain screw. I kept priming In order to see if clear fuel would start coming out the drain plug to no avail. There are lead plugs and a big plug that I didn't want to take out because I was afraid I wouldn't be able o put them back in. Do you think I'm going to have to take these plugs out in order to clean out the carb better? What could be causing the fuel to get this milky color? The fuel I'm using was jut bought and fresh. Also this engine was running last year. Thank you

The passages for the fuel between the inlet needle & seat and the drain valve are huge. If gas cannot make it through there, it must be awfully thick "gas" or there is a major clog, or the float is set wrong. No need to remove the small plugs---yet.
