1975 johnson 115 does not fire.

i just bouhgt a boat it has a 115 johnson on it,the guy i bought it from siad it ran last year and had the power pack replaced on it,after getting it home i charged up the battery and tried to start it.no luck, it cranks ok,but does not fire at all, i checked for spark off one of the wires and didnt see any,any help or opinions would be apprecated, thanks

If you are sure spark is the problem, disconnect the main harness plug (red) and check for spark. Use a starter button to engage solenoid. Check for spark on all 4 cylinders with a spark checker. Check with the plugs in and out. Let me know what you find. dhadley50@aol.com. Once you get spark, have the carbs cleaned BEFORE you start it.<br />Good luck.
