Noticed yesterday that the toggle switch activated choke not working (motor still starts, but butterflys not closed when working the toggle)I can move the solenoid plunger by hand, just not electrically. I "assume" the solenoid has gone south. How can I check, is it difficult to replace(Yes, I have the manual, loooks easy to get to)and where can I get a new solenoid for a 1975 50hp.
Thanks

First make sure that there is 12 volts to the purple wire to the solenoid when the switch is activated. Could be a bad wire or switch.

If you have 12 volts to the solenoid make sure the linkage is not set in the manual "Off" position. If it is the plunger should still move electronically but the butterflies wont move.

It's in Connecticut, I am at work in a firehouse in New Jersey. Just planning ahead.
