1975 50 HP Merc. Need Help Changing Reeds.

I hope someone can help me. I want to change the reeds on my 1975 50 HP Merc. But I'm not sure how to get to them. I have a good idea where they are but when I had my carbs off I could not see them. Anyone out there know how I change them. I really just want to know how I get to them. I know I should have a manual but I'd like to get them out this weekend. Any input would be awsome. Thanx

Many larger mercs. have the reeds on the crank (not an easy job)

Yep......Tough job. Those reeds are on the crank. Gotta split the case to get to those reeds. you may want to rebuild at that time also.
