Hey guy I really need some help here. My outboard will not stay running until after half throttle. I have to tap the choke to keep here from stalling. A real pain in the ass. Also a lack of pick up. So I tried some carb cleaner and gum out and I noticed when I sprayed it into the top carb is would start to die on me and this is normal but when I would sprayed it into the bottom carb it did nothing at all. Before I did this I changed my carbs and when I took off the old ones there was a chunk of melted plastic stuck there. It used to be my wasp catcher. I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought that it had to be my problem. But it wasn't. But I'm thinking that there is more jamming the reeds. What do you think. My compression is good 130 to 140 across the 4 cylinders. New gas and the tank is vented. New plugs and wires. New fuel line and fuel pump. I may even need a card rebuild but I just want some input on the reeds. Could this be my problem? And where are the reeds? Are they hard to get to? Please help. Thanx

How a wasp catcher got injested by your motor has got to be interesting.
I guess it could still be sticking the reeds
or plugging passages if it was big enough.
Ive never messed with reeds but they are basically under the carbs.
You should get a manual.Try the library, the top of this page or Amazon.com,NAPA,EBAY etc.
Are you sure you have spark on the bottom cylinders?
