1975 25HP Johnson, Flywheel broken

I have a 25R75B outboard. I was trying to use it this weekend and could only get the top jug to fire. I swaped plugs and it was still only the top jug.
I was going to pull the flywheel and check the points as I have in the past.
This time, it broke around the steel spider that is cast into it. I then had to take it to a machine shop and they used some type of small cutter wheel to slice into where the key is and spread the hub and it came off. Long story short, the points look good but I am in need of a flywheel and I cant seem to find one. Any ideas of where to look? Google has only found places that show it as obsolete and unavailable.

Part number is 581109. Try www.sea-way.com They have a treasure trove in obsolete parts.

Can we assume you were pulling on the outer rim? It might benefit others to know that is what happens when you do that.

harmonic balance puller! you ever notice those 3 threaded holes in the top? they have a purpose

yes, I actually use a flywheel puller. This puppy was frozen in place.
from the looks of the alluminum it had previous cracks in the metal evidenced by dark places compared to light places of fresh breaks. Thanks for the links I will give them a try.

I tried Sea-Way and they said they have no stock on this item.
Anyone have any other sources up their sleves? I am desperate here.

PM me. I have a couple of eBay stores that have NOS parts and used. Both have been very helpful in helping me put together a 25HP, 1972.

Just an update.... Replaced Flywheel, rebuilt the carb, points etc. new plugs and the old beast is running better than it ever did before. I can even pull down to an idle and just chug along.. it never did that.

I found the flywheel in NY, other parts from this site and also boats.net.
I can send you some links if your in need of parts.
