Hello,
I have a 1974 Johnson 40hp outboard. With the help of you awesome people I have managed to change the water impeller. All was well for the first month, but now problems. It has an intermittent pee stream and the little water coming from it is very hot for a while. It just recently started doing this, so my 1st thought was thermostat Can anyone tell me how to tell if I have a thermostat or where it might be? If anyone has other ideas please let me know.
Thanks guys

The tell-tale is an indicator of pump pressure, it is before the thermostat. If you have a weak stream, I would look downstream towards the pump. The tell-tell isn't plugged is it, run a piece of weed wacker string up the hose and see if it is plugged. Remove the hose from the fitting on the block and see if you have a strong stream there.
Could you post your model number, we can tell exactly what engine you have.
