I am redoing the interior of a 1974 Invader I/O ski boat made in Giddings Texas.
i remember the original Boat Interior had some sort of emblem or logo that was on the seat backs, and I am looking for any kind of diagrams or photographs or anything that might demonstrate what the original logo looked like so that I can have that embroidered into the new interior. The current interior is the second version, and nobody kept records or photos of what the original interior looked like.

thanks

I didn't know they were made in Giddings, Tx. Boats were popular as they were reasonably priced and served their owners well as I could see/hear. Learn something new every day.

So we had Invader, Lamar, on the Gulf freeway in Lamar,Tx on the way to Galveston, Glastron fiberglass in Austin, Yellow Jacket molded ply wood I remember seeing being built in Houston (details vague but boats were well liked in my boating circles at the time) and apparently other places.....Roy Rodgers, the cowboy got involved with that company.....funny a cowboy taking all his kids for a ride in a new longer length 16' Yellow Jacket boat with a newly released Mercury I6, "Tower of Power" 60 hp outboard....saw the picture in a sales brochure. Then there was Holmes (I visited them too as a kid) on Harrisburg Blvd. also in Houston and who knows how many other boats built in the great state of Texas!!!!!

This is from a 1987 boat . . . not sure if it was the same for the 1970's.

Is this the Emblem, a Slanted 'I"?

Morning,

yes this is very , very close to what i remember ,

it was a simple slanted, I in burgundy color on the boat that I have, I’m the second owner and I didn’t keep track of decent photographs of the interior. I have the original owners, manual and service manual, but there are no pictures or diagrams of the emblem but that slanted eye is what I’ve been trying to put into words now I just have to find a way to design it or find more information about it. I sent an email to the library in Giddings Texas because I had three or four friends who bought the boats and they’re awesome boats. Mine still runs fantastic, 1974 , 17 foot

OMC , I think it’s basically a 350 Chevy that has about 260 hp in a small ski boat. Reminds me of turning up the old Chevy cars we had in the 70s.

but that image of the slanted I was very very helpful, so I’m going to dig around more in that area or I try to track down some of the other owners and see if they have any old photographs all right thank y’all
