Sounds like the glass fuel bowl on the fuel pump. Does it have a metal hasp with a thumbscrew on the bottom, and acts as a clip to hold the glass bowl firmly to the fuel pump body?
If so check ebay/craigslist for an old style fuel pump assembly, they're available, but what do you want to pay? Someone on here may have an extra, don't know. Try

You probably ought to replace the diaphragm in the fuel pump too as a matter of maintenance since you're now "playing" in that area anyway. Good luck...
