I had left the key on for about a day in finally diagnosing a sheared woodruff key (thanks iboats archives). Anyways mine went up in a poof of smoke. How interchangeable are these? I found some that appear to just have a different pigtail or wire colors, which can be got around with a soldering iron and some heat shrink. Otherwise a lot of them from this era look identical and pretty much apear to do the same thing. If all it did was pull the choke closed, I'd be good to go, but my service manual said something about working with a temp sensor to open up? Which could behave different possibly?
