1974' 120HP to 140HP swap? Plug & Play????

If a 120HP is worn out, can a 140HP of equivilent year be dropped in without alteration?

This is a MC-1 drive.

Conversly, can the 165 HP inline six be dropped in and the back end towards the transom stay as is? I know the front end needs altered to fit, I just want to know about the transom end of things.
