just bought this for 1700.00 120 mercruiser just for fishing and cruising and some tubing. the only problem is the prop is banged up but not original as it was swapped to another boat and this one put on this boat but not ran. what prop do i need or do you recommend. also the speedometer sensor on the back is broke and i have no idea what it looks like or where to get one, a picture please. i was told it was a wheel? I want to put boat in water next weekend and then pulling it out and putting pedestal seats in and repainting and electronic ignition.

I have the same boat. Lead substitute is cheap, and I would recommend it. Mine came with a 17" prop that way over-revved the engine (5K). I replaced it with a 14x21 and now rev at 4000+, which is about right. I cruise in mid 20's and top out at about 35. My boat doesn't have a speedo, so I use a hand held gps in a dash mount, which is much more precise.

Good luck with the paint. I used automotive enamel over the original paint, and it looks ok, except that the gas overflow discolors it and makes it flake. Touch-up is cheap though.

I agree with idyltimelg Lead substitute is cheap , also Mercruier recommends High Test 91 or higher in that engine.

I have a 18 Starcraft Holiday with same engine and run a 15 x21 which is perfect for me. I would recommend a 15 x19 for the open bow Super Sport because you will have more weight forward.

I'm glad I read this one, I have a 1968 Holiday with a 150 merc I\O and didn't think about leaded gas or high test ( I should know better) it runs a little slugish when you wind it up I'll bet an octain booster like 104+ would help.

Instead of 104 octane booster I would just use 91-93 octane, not that much more when you figure it out verses measuring out how much gas and booster to use.
