I have a 1973 merc 115hp inline 6. I was wandering if anybody has tried to put a small electric fuel pump on these motors. If so what PSI should a person use.

thanks

I was advised against it by more than one tech. I believe it was due to more fuel pressure than the carbs are able to handle. ( needle valve problems ect...) It is also illegal here in Minnesota. Motor kills and you still have fuel flow, fire, and pollution hazard.

My dad put one on our Merc 1250 and had a regulator set at 1/2 pound of pressure, which is about the same as the internal fuel punp puts out. We did this mainly because our fuel tank was in the bow and that was a long way for that internal pump to draw fuel from.

Craig
