Hi all. I am getting to my wits end trying to figure out how this linkage works. It is the one pictured below that is just hanging there. Right now I have it rigged together with a piece of wire, but I really want it back in optimum working order. From the picture, can anyone tell me which part(s) are needed and how it gets put back together? I also have parts 73 and 74 for from the carburetor parts diagram, but cannot for the life of me figure out how this goes back together.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 1973 Johnson 25HP linkage?

I am going to a marina that has lots of used motors this weekend to take a look and see if they have something similar. Does anyone know some models that use a very similar linkage?

Thanks!

Link-throttle lever to choke bellcrank. Part no 54 in the shop.evinrude.com parts breakdown for your year ahd hp?

I've got a 20 and a 25, both 1972's, and I dont recall either having a linkage like that.

The parts chart is a little hard to interpert, but it's better than nothing.

Good luck.

54 I have sir. It is hanging there in the pic. I agree the parts chart is hard to interpret, that's why I posted it here!

As Grumman mentioned, it looks to be the lever that advances the throttle when you engage the choke. It looks as if it goes to the piece on the throttle arm where that little black circle still is, a mark of the plastic piece or other piece that used to be there.

Thanks. I see how the two work together, but need to see how it all goes together. Does anyone happen to have a pic of it?
