What should I look for as far as checking it out before I buy. I'm going to purchase a compression guage to check that (please post instructions how to do so.) How much should I look to spend (right now the guy is several hundred over NADA.) I know the electronic choke is non functional. I have seen the engine run. The guy says the compression is 150 +/- 8% all around.

Thanks in advance for your advice,
John - Temporarily dry docked in FL :(

If you can verify that compression on all cylinders I think you have a good motor there. If you can take her for a ride and see how she starts hot and cold and check max RPM of 5000+ I would try to cut a deal.
