1973 Evinrude 18 hp controls

I am looking to get controls for my 73 18hp fastwin. Are my looking for the 400 series? Will Johnson shipmaster circa early 70's work?

Any of the OMC type 2 lever control will work with your Evinrude. All the way back to the mid 50's models. The good thing is that the cables are not that expensive if you need to change them for a different length. Watch ebay.

be sure to keep the ends of the cables especially the control end. they can be hard to find. you also may need cable brackets on the motor.
