Worn out lower shift cable. Your shift interrupt is kicking in and killing the motor. Replace the lower shift cable.

But,..... We Gotta know what motor, 'n what outdrive ya got,.....

I'm guessin' ya got a Merc MC-1 drive, so Rick is Right,.... Yer lower shift cable is junk, 'n needs to be replaced,....
