1973 25r73a 25 hp driver coil help

hey guys looking for some help on this motor. over winter i did a complete rebuild of entire engine. just finished up last week started it for the first time today and it idles rough and pops out the exhaust i was thinking ignition ne points etc. my question is an all diagrams i see they call for one driver coil under flywheel per assembly and my motor has two am i supposd to have two?

Perhaps the powerhead on your motor is not a 1973 model.-----Does your motor have 2 ignition coils on the side of the block ?----Pictures always help with these identification issues.

Yep, a 1973 has the Lo-Tension magneto with one driver coil and two external spark coils. 1972 and prior has two coils under the flywheel, no external coils.. Somebody has done a switcheroo of some sort on your motor. Perhaps they just swapped the magneto? Do you have one set of magnets in your flywheel and another non-magnetic dummy set opposite? Should have two sets of magnets, opposite each other and one driver.

Not sure on the magnets the round I'd tag on the side of the power head says 25r73a I'm going to pull the flywheel off again in the morning to check the magnets and I just found the right magneto online I'm going to try to swap them out and go from there

Here is a pic I'm guessing if its the wrong ignition setup that would be the course of the poppy through exhaust?
