What ignition system is used on this motor. Where can I get more info on it. There is one "coil and lamination" under the flywheel and two coils on the block, two sets of points. I am having spark problems on one cylinder, I have already switched the coils and the problem remains with the top cylinder. Are there two sets of windings, one for each coil, in the coil and lamination? Thanks and Best Wishes in the New Year.

You have a Lo Tension Magneto. It has 2 ignition coils and 1 driver coil.

In the Lo Tension Magneto, grounds are very important at the points. Ensure they are clean and tight. Did you try cleaning and dressing and regapping the points as well>?

Very good info there HighTrim. And while he is in there he should also check the condenser(s) as well. They rarely short, but it is a good idea to verify they are still good anyway.
