1972 sea sprite help

i have a 1972 sea sprite an i put a 1955 50hp on it this motor is heavy just wanted to know if its to heavy for my boat havent had her in the water with this motor yet an i need the points gap setting for this motor its a 1955 or so i was told but its 50hp super sea horse v4 any help please

You will need to give us the size of your boat, the max hp should be listed somewhere in your boat.

the boat is 15 foot long its a 1972 seasprite tri hull the coast guard tag on it says engine size 55 but i dident know about the weight of this old 1955 hanging off the back of it i havent had it in the water with that engine yet

That 50 ought to be just fine if the boat is rated for a 55, if you were going to use a four stroke, motor weight would have been an issue.
