1972 merc

has any one had any experience in taking off the two carbs on a 65 h merc. i can just see them let alone take them off. i could really use some advise on if this is something a do it yourselfer could or should do. this seems to be my last resort before the ball bat comes into play. have spark, but no fuel. have rebuilt pumps, lines, etc.<br /><br />help<br /><br />bug

could be the flotes in the bulbs on the carbs. not really familer with merc but on my force had same problem and it was the floats. pretty easy take screw out of bottom of bulb take off and clean.<br /><br />have fun <br />cj rooster

I have a mercury 1973 50hp and I just had to <br />remove the carbs.If the motor has been setting up for awhile or gas was left in the carbs then they are probably clogged up.On the 50 I have I to remove the starter,front cowling,distriburtor and it still was a pain to get to.Its the only way I could get to the carbs.
