HELLO, <br />I AM LIVING IN BELGIUM AND RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS ENGINE. IS THERE ANNUBODY WHO CAN TELL ME WHAT TYPE OF OIL I MUST USE IN THE LOWER UNIT AND WHAT TYPE OF SPARK PLUGS,BESIDE THE MANUFACTURERS SPECS.<br />THANKS <br />offshoreboat

automatic transmission fluid in the lower unit,about 1 litre approx.<br />plugs are champion L-77V

I have this same motor.. 100ESL72<br /><br />the proper oil for the lower unit is:<br /><br />OMC Premium blend Gearcase oil..<br /><br />It states on the back of the bottle that its for electric shift lower units.. (it is non damaging for the insulation...).<br />and its not that expensive..<br /><br />regards<br /><br />Frank
