1972 Hi-Laker 14 foot Fiberglass Boat

Hello
I need to know what engine size would be best choice for this boat. I have heard that they are prone to flip with motors over 35hp.

I have.
The transom is decent but needs the upper /central area refilled using epoxy resin.
The concern is the false bottom , as the drain plug only drains the open deck of the boat. There is about a 4-8 inch area below this that has some moisture present, plan on cutting 1-2 inspection access spots to visualize the stringers etc,.
