1972 Chrysler 707HE 70hp 3-cyl conversion to automotive coil how to?

Alrighty I’ve had this project going for a while. It’s a 1972 Chrysler 707HE 3 cyl 90HP with points and condenser and should be breaker less. I believe the setup is the Motorola 2 ignition. I am wanting to permanently bypass the the C-D unit because it seems to be a big failure component and very pricey for the replacements. I’ve read several threads from several forums but they all seem to be slightly different and would like to get a fresh opinion from the smart minds of y’all.
move read it’s okay to use a 9V coil. I don’t think that sounds right for a 12V system.
Some say to put condensers inline with the wire coming from the negative wire to the distributor (the distributor only has white/black stripe, I believe it’s not an optical) that also didn’t make sense because there are condensers inside the distributor already.
i understand I’ll need a resistor or ballast resistor of “x” ohms. Not only am I shaky on the ohms but also placement. I’ve see wiring diagrams showing the resistor from the negative on the coil… that also confuses me greatly.
At this stage in the game I’m hitting a wall and definitely a loss for where, what, when, & why. Now “who” has some great info to keep me from starting a neat electrical fire. Thank you all in advance. I’ll post some photos as soon as I can and maybe that will help.

Thanks, I’ll dig through the info on this to see if it is applicable and if it works for me. I’ll keep y’all updated on it. I have my doubts that the C-D box works correctly but I can’t say that it does definitely. Thanks.
