1972 50hp Johnson leaking gas

motor runs fine but when I shut it off gas seems to leak out of carbs notice it more when the motor is lifted up to trailer. Any advice on what is wrong and easiest way to fix?? Thanks in advance

the carb are out of level when the motor is tilted, they run over, 100% normal. disconnect fuel line when tilting.

The gas leaks when it is level but not as noticeable until its tilted up and drips on the back of the boat is it time to rebuild carbs or is there another issue?

Drop your carb bowls and ensure that your floats are free from any sediment or corrosion/holes and that your bowls are clean. Perhaps a piece of sediment is between the float and the float pin holding the float in an "open" position?
