1972 50HP Johnson Elictric Start - CDI Kill Switch?

So I got this motor started and running great. How do I turn it off? The key switch on the control is on/off (two terminals only), with ON engaging the starter and all electrical. Off does nothing. Can I ground the pulse side of the two coil packs to shut it down, or will this damage the CDI control? I cannot find anything in the wiring diagram. Also the key switch in the diagram is your standard off/on/start switch, but no indication of a kill switch. Anyone?

The cdi switch box / powerpack should have a black / yellow stripe wire.-----Is it connected.-----Does the ignition switch have 2 posts marked " M "--------find a wiring diagram before you make expensive guesses.

I have the wiring diagram. The previous owner obviously tinkered. The diagram shows a black ground on the switch and the black/yellow on the switch (the 2 Ms). I can see the black (disconnected) but no black/yellow at the control. I will check this further. The black/yellow is connected at the CDI control. As I mentioned, the switch in the control has only two terminals. I've seen posts covering these two wires so I just need to determine if they are NO or NC when the switch is in the OFF position. Don't plan on experimenting.

No way can the two terminal ignition switch do what you want. Grounding that yellow/black wire (to black) is what turns the ignition off. The battery is in no way connected to the ignition system. Better not be, anyway.

You've got the wrong switch. Get the correct one.

No, it's not connected.
