Just curious if anyone knew what a 1972 chrysler 45 hp outboard is worth in good running condition.

Not much. It is nearly 40 years old and parts are hard to find.

There are a few Chrysler fans out there. Maybe one of them would have a higher opinion then me.

I bought a 1970 55hp for 225

Around here they usually go for 3-4 hundred in good running condition.

There are a lot of variables to that: How badly does the owner want to sell it and how badly do you want it?

For junkers I will usually pay around 50 if it has parts I want and certainly no more than 100.

So if you want it and it is in good running condition, a couple of hundred is in the ball park. But don't get carried away: They usually do not have power tilt and trim, and usually do not have electronic ignition. They are old school, low performance engines so you just don't want to pay a lot. That way, if something breaks, you still have the options of repairing or discarding the engine.
