1972 140hp mercuiser is it a good engine?

Looking at 1972 19ft silverline boat fully restored 6 years ago. powered by 140 hp mercruiser inboard. boat and motor have under 100 hours on them. I've never owned an inboard before could use some advice on what to look and listen for. Any advice would be helpful.

They call this the Iron Duke engine...........Very good small engine! Might be a little underpower for a 19 footer..You need to seatrial it to see.<br /><br />But to answer your question..Its a very good engine.<br /><br />Several changes in the years they made them..Started out with the 110HP then went to the 120 and then the 140. All good if you ask me.<br /><br />Now its the 135HP. With a few changes......<br /><br />The first ones, 110 went into the 1965 Chevy II Novas.
