1972 100 HP Johnson Pulse Pack

I feel sure that my pulse pack is bad. How can I verify this without purchasing any special equipment? Is there a replacement unit available for this motor?

I can't remember the test to perform for the pack. but I can tell you that they blow quite easily.<br /><br />I have the same motor. (100ESL72) and the first thing I did after getting my motor was to replace the pack.<br /><br />It cost me about 350AUD, but everything for boats is overly expensive in australia, so its probably allot cheaper elsewhere.<br /><br />One tip, make sure every single earth line on the motor is perfect. (there are earth lines between the leg and the bottom of the powerhead), make sure they clean and tight. bad earths will kill the pack quickly. (I went so far as to double up on earth straps to make sure.)<br /><br />Regards<br /><br />Franki
