New to the forum. Love reading everyone's opinions and advice - looking forward to working on my new project!

I bust bought a starcraft project boat, and am looking for some information on it. I know I have seen some scans around of old brochures and advertisements from the 70's but I can't seem to find many details on the TR-170. Any help directing me to the right forums/links/people is much appreciated.

Perfect! Thank you so much baldwibr Thanks to these, I'm betting it's a 1970 - not '71.

Watermann Haha! So ugly it's cute (at least in my eyes) - it just screams 70's for me. We had a bathroom growing up (80's) where all of the fixtures were this avocado color :) so naturally I'm drawn to this one in particular.

This is my first boat, and really just want to get it out on the water. It's going to need some transom work to carry that 115 OB, so I know a bit of teardown is required. I've already got the motor running with a quick carb rebuild and water pump swap for peace of mind. For $250 I got a titled boat, motor, and trailer. If I can keep the whole project under $1000 I'll feel pretty confident about moving on to a higher quality boat of the same generation.

I'm digging your Chief build! Looks great!
