I have a 1971 9.5 Hp johnson and i have installed a new fuel pump on it and it will start great and idle for a long time with no problems. I took it to the lake and when i went to WOT it would die after a couple of seconds. The bubble was soft so I pumped it up again and the same thing happened. As long as I pump the bubble about every second the motor will run WOT. I took the fuel line off of the carb and it was pumping fuel, but I'm not sure how much it would take to keep up. Is there anything I could have overlooked. It seems like it is losing prime or something but I'm not sure where to look. THe fuel lines on the motor are all new and the fuel line from tank to motor is one year old. I can't find a leak in either of them. Any help willl be greatly appreciated. Henry

I'm assuming you have the vent open on your fuel tank (or loosen cap). If you have an air leak at a connector, that'd cause your issue. When you pump the bulb firm, do you have a leak at the engine side coupler(or anywhere downstream of the primer bulb)? If not, you may have a leaky connector at tank connection, or a leaky supply tube inside fuel tank..

Good luck, and welcome aboard!
