We have. 1970 model 110, 9.8 hp , 2621759 serial #. Finally found the levers, or buttons on rear to remove cowling. It must be stuck, how can I get it unstuck ? Any info greatly appreciated.
The 2 levers are in the bottom cowl and attached to/by a rod that goes across the levers. The rod engages a hook mechanism in the upper cowl. The top cowl and bottom cowl are held together like a clam shell by the rod engaging into the hook.
The levers should pull down to release the cowl. If not . . . Take your can of PB Blaster and make sure the levers have lubrication where they meet the bottom cowl. Press the top and bottom cowl together and see if that relieves the pressure on the rod enough so that the levers will now pull down. (might need 2 people for this)
