Im having trouble finding the correct fuel line connector for my 1970 9.8 hp 110 mercury . I purchased a Moeller #033418-10, but it is too big to fit through the housing opening to connect to the fuel nipple on the engine. I understand that the early connectors were a little smaller diameter to fit through the opening. Apparently these connectors come in two sizes. One for older mercs and one for newer mercs. Does anyone know what connector I need? Part number, size, or proper description?
Thanks
Tom

The correct connector for the small fitting pre-71 motors is 30635T3.

thanks again

That is a Mercury number, current unless it has superseded to something else.

Do you, or anyone, know if the larger diameter connector will fit the fuel bayonet nipple on the early motors.

In other words, I already have the large diameter connector and am considering grinding the outside diameter of the large connector to fit through the hole in the cowl that is preventing it from reaching the fuel nipple.

In other words, again, is the bayonet connection on the early models the same as the later models?

Thanks, Tom

?----I would simply switch this all over to a newer connecter set-up say Johnson / Yamaha / Mercury .---What ever is available cheapest near you. .--------Or eliminate that connecter and just disconnect at the tank and leave the hose attached to the motor !
