20hp Montgomery Wards Seaking. I was going to pull the flywheel and check under there to make sure all was clean but no screw holes for a flywheel puller like an OMC motor, tried to knock it off with a piece of wood tapping under it but wouldn't budge, gave up on pulling the flywheel, might not even have to. thanks for any input on the removal of it though. model VWB27020A.

Put a puller on it and put lots of tourqe on the bolt.Make sure the nut is in the tflywheel so it doesn,t fall off and then tap the puller bolt with a hammer. It should pop off.J

There is a ref to a Knock Off Nut (in Clymer?s Shop Manual) that I relate to removing Tecumseh small engine?s flywheels in the 70s. The nut fits on the threaded crank close to the flywheel vs tightening. Pry up on the flywheel to reduce the blow to you connector rod and strike the nut to separate them. This actually works and I would say use a penetrating oil in advance to help them separate. Old School, LOL!! Good Luck! JOW
