I seem to have a bad solenoid. When I turn the key, the solenoid will click but not engage the starter. I can jump across the solenoid and the starter spins. Easy right? Well, I bought an auto motive (Ford) type solenoid and mounted it but it does nothing. Since the Chrysler solenoid only has 1 small terminal and the Ford has 2, can I make this solenoid work and? If so, how? Thank you.

The Chrysler solenoid has the minus (ground in the metal housing) that is why it has only one small terminal.

The automotive Ford solenoid need minus from ground to one of the small terminals, to the other small terminal you connect the yellow/black or yellow from the neutral interlocking switch.

Add a jumper from one of the small terminals to good ground.

Thanks for the information. I'll give it a try. I've already ordered the correct one but if this works, I'll keep it as a spare.
