ok guys so i had a bunch of issues with my motor rebuilt the carbs but couldn't get the idle and whatnot how it was supposed to be so i took it to a shop. They had to rebuild the carbs again to be safe and then the installed a new wire harness and plugs and checked the compression 118-120. So i finally get it back 9 weeks and 900 bucks later, to taker it out on the lake. it idles fantastic, but as soon as i put it in gear it dies. Start it back up and dies again. So i started to think maybe i have to much air comming in on my fuel line somewhere and its making it die? So i will run out and grab a new fuel line and bulb. Anyone have any ideas? maybe fuel mix off??
Thanks
Dave.

Once again we have a very simple solution to the problem, if you paid them to fix it then you need to take it back to them and have them fix it properly, did they test run the motor in a test tank or on the lake? if not then they need to and you need to make sure they do it.

I would be damned if I would ever take my boat to a shop that I pay $900 for repairs that I have to repair myself when i get it home.

Sounds like they did not clean the carbs thoroughly. As Six said, take it back and make sure they blow the high speed jets. There is a lot you can do yourself, for a lot less money.

You could've bought another motor for $600 and had $300 to spare:eek:

For $900 they better have fixed the motor thoroughly, taken you for a lake test.......and mowed your lawn for a month! That's absolutely redonkulous.

Take it back or insist on a refund.

Yeah i know, these guys are a joke really i had to hound them to finish the thing. Funny think i actually rebuilt the carbs and had it running better then they did, but i felt something wasn't right with the way the carbs were tunes and ws the whole reason i took it in there. the parts wern't bad, but the rediculous 100 bucks and hour that is bs. I have no idea if the put it in an tank and tested it. When i got there they had it in the back of the lot and there were a pair of muffs on the ground nest to it so im amsuming thats what they used. Now im waiting for phone calls back from these people but nothing.
