1970 4 HP EVINRUDE wont idle

my yard sale motor i picked up for 25.00 wont idle down it stumbles and dies. runs great at wot and 1/2 throttle. what should i be looking for in the meantime until my manuals get here hopefully Monday fro kencook.com. Thx Joe

Look for a gummed up low speed circuit in the carb, Joe.<br /><br />Rdd sky at night. . . <br />JB

J.B. Where will i find the low speed circut on the carb. all this stuff is new to me. Man i can't wait to get my manuals so i don't have to bother ya all so often. Thx Again Joe

i would check the carb first. check the plugs 2.
