I am new to boating and the guy I bought the boat from didn't know either (so bear with me). I am wondering if this motor has a reverse lock-down lever? There is a tilt-lock pin but the lockdown doesn't ride over the top to lock it down and I can't find any adjustment. The only reason I ask is that when backing the boat off the trailer the prop wants to come up out of the water.

Any help would be appreciated
Mike Hugo

There is a lock down that latches as you shift to reverse. It may be damaged or jammed carefully shift and watch near trim pin you should see the parts move as you shift.I dont know exact
design but probably a couple of hooks that latch
to stop kick up.You may be able to latch by hand
but be careful if you hit something fast it could do serious damage if latch is on.
Good luck, Spike
